About me
Caroline Maddox is a Georgia-based artist whose work reflects the quiet beauty of everyday life. Rooted in mindfulness and a deep connection to nature, her practice is shaped by her devotion to yoga as both a practitioner and teacher. These paths naturally inform one another, creating a rhythm of making that is grounded in presence, observation, and openness.
Her work unfolds as a practice of attention. The botanical forms that appear across her clay canvases are painted and carved in the moment, inspired by what is blooming around her. Through this contemplative process, she lingers with the present—honoring the subtle shifts of season, place, and time.
At the heart of her work is a desire to cultivate stillness and gratitude, offering gentle reminders to notice the beauty in nature and to cherish life’s simple pleasures.
Alongside her studio practice and teaching, she serves as Deputy Director of Philanthropy at the High Museum of Art. She holds undergraduate degrees in Studio Art and Art History from the University of Georgia, a master’s degree in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, and a Ph.D. in Art from the University of Georgia.
